In my country (Taiwan) we also have similar food like Onigiri selling in the 7-11 store. I agree it's very delicious. :)

Hi, it's Lucy (who figured out how to post a comment without an account). I have never eaten onigiri but it sounds delicious. Could you say it is a ball of rice with something else (like salmon) in the middle?
I do make sushi nori once in a while. Maybe you can give an explanation of how the Japanese prepare sushi nori.

You have very interesting names! In Hawaii, you can find onigiri in the convenience stores, too. One kind is called Spam musubi. It is shaped like a brick with rice on the bottom and a slice of grilled Spam on the top. Then, it is wrapped together with a strip of seaweed. It is not very healthy, but it is very popular!
I am English and my wife is Japanese. We have a daughter who is almost ten months old. We live in New Zealand and spend a lot of time exploring it. Today, we went on a seven hour car journey on dirt roads through the mountains. My wife made a beautiful picnic which of course included ONIGIRI. I am certain that my wife made it with love because it tasted so delicious.

My father is Japanese, but I grew up in America. When I was a child, I ate many different kinds of Japanese food, but I never tried Onigiri until I moved to Japan. Now it is one of my favorite lunch foods! I tried making my own Onigiri. I love natto, so I put natto inside. It was very difficult to make! Have you ever tried making Natto Onigiri?
